AL Bridge

by AppLibra

Let cloud BC print, read folders and reach local devices - the shared foundation under every AppLibra connector.

Live on AppSource

Overview

Business Central SaaS is sandboxed: it cannot print to local printers, read or write folders, run local processes, or convert PDFs and digital signatures. AL Bridge closes that gap. It is the shared foundation - a local agent plus AppLibra cloud services, orchestrated from BC over an encrypted job queue - that every AppLibra connector app plugs into as a module. Install it once and the whole connector family can reach the on-premise and external world.

Key features

  • Local agent via job queue - modules queue an encrypted job; a local service verifies the module licence, decrypts it and runs it on site, driverless, with nothing installed on BC.
  • File-system operations - save, create or check folders, move and copy, read file or folder, delete, extract XML, including reading inbound folders.
  • AppLibra cloud services - PNG-to-GRF for Zebra labels, PDF from JSON templates, PDF page count, e-invoice P7M signature decoding and attachment extraction.
  • Generic REST client - calls external APIs with Basic Auth or Bearer token, headers, body and ETag, used for carriers, OAuth and cloud services.
  • Built in - PDF viewer add-in, job logs, error messages and AES encryption of job content.

Business benefits

  • SaaS without limits - printing, file access and local integrations from a cloud ERP.
  • Driverless - no Windows drivers or installs on Business Central.
  • One shared base - a single infrastructure instead of a custom bridge per integration.

Typical scenarios

  • Print from SaaS - send labels and documents to local printers.
  • File exchange - read and write local folders such as e-invoice SDI and PEC folders.
  • Carriers and APIs - reach carrier and cloud services through the REST client.

What makes it different

AL Bridge is not another point integration: it is the enabling glue of the AppLibra platform. It rides the free AL Message Passing bus, so one encrypted job queue and one cloud-service layer serve the entire connector family - printing, files, PowerShell, carriers and e-invoicing all compose over the same foundation, with each capability licensed as its own module.
