AL GS1

Overview

AL GS1 turns Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central into a full GS1-128 (EAN-128) engine. It encodes barcodes from your documents and decodes scanned ones into their Application Identifiers, generates GTIN and SSCC with the correct GS1 check digit, and - over a Web API and the AL Message Passing bus - turns a barcode scan into lot, weight, and pallet data on the right document. No more building or reading GS1 codes by hand.

Key features

• GS1-128 encode and decode - build the barcode from a GS1 model (SSCC, GTIN, lot, dates, serial, net and gross weight, volume, pack quantity, external document) and decode scans back into their AIs.
• Configurable AI master - length, fixed or max length, data type, and regex validation for every Application Identifier.
• GS1 models - header and line definitions with a released status and a source (company, customer, supplier, or barcode group), plus GS1 rule validation.
• Bidirectional GTIN - resolve GTIN per source to decode supplier barcodes and encode customer-specific ones, with fixed-quantity or variable-weight accounting that ties GS1 to catch weight.
• GTIN and SSCC generation - GS1 prefix, number series, check digit, and ITF-14 conversion.
• Scan capture via Web API - a barcode buffer linked to the document line, dispatched over the bus to lot, pallet, and weight.
