Overview
AL Catch Weight Management lets you handle variable-weight goods - meat, cheese, fish, produce - by piece or case while pricing, costing and tracing them by the actual weight. You operate in a handling unit and price and post in an accounting unit (weight), so prices and costs finally reflect the real weight, not a nominal per-piece figure. It stays entirely inside standard Business Central: the accounting price comes from your standard price lists and everything posts through the standard engine.

- Dual unit of measure - a handling (operational) unit and an accounting (weight/volume) unit, on the item and on every line, with bidirectional sync of weight, accounting quantity and price.
- Price from standard BC price lists - a temporary UoM swap reads the price on the accounting unit, then restores it; no custom pricing engine, all standard events preserved.
- Flexible weight capture - manual, calculated from dimensions (length, width, height, diameter, area, cubage), or live from scales over the AL Message Passing bus.
- Weigh and Assign Lots - capture the weight and assign lot, package or pallet tracking in one step.
- Weight Ledger Entries - net and gross weight on the Item Ledger Entries plus an inbound-to-outbound entry per application.
