AL Packaging defines the packaging (pallets, cartons, trays, interlayers, angulars) associated with documents and items in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, with ownership, transport type and pallet composition (layers per pallet). It is the packaging master that feeds logistics, labels and the packaging environmental contribution.

Key capabilities

  • Packaging per document/source - packaging linked to sales/purchase/transfer/warehouse documents via Record MAP ID, with automatic resolution of location/customer/vendor/shipping agent.
  • Packaging types - pallet, package (carton), tray, interlayer and angular (typed items), with quantity per type.
  • Ownership and transport - owner type (own/customer/vendor/returnable), transfer type and transport type, with EAN-128.

How it works

Set up the packaging items (pallet/package/tray/interlayer/angular) and their types (ownership/transport). On a document you define the packaging (quantity per type, layers and cartons), and the app computes the number of cartons and pallets; the data then feeds logistics (operational cartons/pallets), labels and the CONAI contribution.

Requirements

  • Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, version 28.0 or higher, online (SaaS) and on-premises. AppSource covers online environments; on-premises is distributed and installed directly by AppLibra, through the AppLibra License Manager.
  • Languages - English (en-US) and Italian (it-IT).
  • Dependencies (installed automatically) - AL Foundation App, AL Message Passing and AL License and Trial Management, all from AppLibra.
  • Note - AL Packaging is the packaging configuration/master; operational cartons/pallets built during picking are handled by AL Logistic.
